ScrapLounge - my last project!

I`m posting today my last layout I created for Scraplounge.ning where I`m guest-designing this month.
I used November Album Kit at My Creative Scrapbook.

Hi there!
I`m posting today my 3rd project for ScrapLounge where I`m Guest-designing this month.
I used the November Album Kit at My Creative Scrapbook. The Hanging lamp is an awesome Dusty Attic chippie (NB! Not incuded in the kit!)

I chose the polka-dots side of the pattern paper to work with (see photo below).

The first thing I did was to water-distress the pattern paper. After that I used different colors ink and I mixed two colors of Glimmer Mist paint. When eveything was dry I stamped this big heart with the swirls (Tattered Angels clear stamp). 

NB: I stamped once using two colors of acrylic paint (yellow and green) and I stamped second time using brown ink.

I did some hand-stitching as well...

 The butterflies are stamped and colored in with Copic Markers...

One more close-up.... The photo was b&w but I wanted to give it two colors. I used Distress Ink and a sponge to get this result. For the matting of the photo I used the same two colors as well!

BIG Sketch Contest at My Creative Scrapbook! ~November~

Happy Monday everyone!
I have a layout to share today. It`s the second round for the *BIG Sketch Contest* at My Creative Scrapbook and we, the Design Team girls, played with this pretty sketch by Julie Bonner. Here is my take on te sketch:

Guest Designer at ScrapLounge ~tutorial~

This is my second layout I created for ScrapLounge where I`m guest-designing this month!
I provided a special step by step tutorial for them showing how I created the Inverted Scallop Border.

I used the gorgeous October Album Kit at My Creative Scrapbook .

Did you notice the red elegant bird? This is the Bird of Paraise :-)! I got the gorgeous Dusty Attic laser chipboard from my sweet friend Gabrielle Pollacco ....Thank you, Gabi!

And here is how it all began....

Step 1

Be sure before you begin you choose double-sided paper.

I firstly outlined a big oval shape using an oval bord. Then I outlined the half circles with the stencil you see on the photo all around the oval.

You can choose yourself how big the half circles will be.

Step 2

Cut the half outlined circles.

Step 3 & 4

My next step was to spray Glimmer Mist (Candy Apple red color). When it was dry I began making circular motions with the embossing pen on the half circles. In this way I gave some dimension.

N.B. The embossing pen is with an extra big ball in the end which makes it easier and faster to work with!

Step 5

After that I chose one of my swirly clear stamps and I began stamping round the oval.

Step 6

I inked the edges of the half circles with green and then I inked them with black.

Step 7

This is the final result from the Inverted Scallop Border I created for my project. Now I`m ready to begin with the finishing touches!

Step 8

My next step was to stamp the little flies on my layout. After that I stamped them once again on a white sheet of paper, I colored them in and then I cut them out!

Step 9

I hand-stitched all over the page.

Step 10

I applied green paint to the edges and when it was dry I applied a little bit of black ink. I added the flower cluster, the bird, the butterflies and the title embelishment. And finally I was ready for my photo :-)....

My Creative Scrapbook ~Limited Edition Kit~

I know, I know.... it`s my second post for today :-) but I was simply eager to share my work with the Limited Edition kit at My Creative Scrapbook. Another yummy kit to play with. Don`t you just love that beautiful "Curio" collection by Basic Grey and all the perfectly matching embellies that Pam Ranger put all together....I just love this kit so much.

I created five layouts and here there are:
I did lots of hand-cutting here and some water-distressing (the upper banner).

And of course to give some dimension I used an embossing pen for the flowers, the bird-cage and the butterflies.

My second layout.....love that photo of my daughter. While we were in Bulgaria last Summer we went out for a walk. I wanted to take a photo of her and I asked her at least ten times to turn around so I can take a few photos ( you know, we moms want photos....lots of photos) Finally, she turned towards me and said: "Who? Me" ....

This is my 3rd page. I used white cardstock for this page. Once again I did some hand-cutting, hand-stitching, water distressing, etc..

The bird is a rub-on. I rubbed it on a white cardstock and then I colored it in.

I hand-cut the rose out of the pattern paper and I gave some dimension with the embossing pen ...it`s very beautiful IRL :-)

My Creative Scrapbook ~Main Kit~

Yeah, it`s this time of the month....time for my DT work at My Creative Scrapbook . This month`s Main Kit is full of all those yummy goodies that make your mouth water :-)....You can see yourself how much gorgeousness is in one kit!!!!

For my first layout I made the shape from white cardstock and I used Glimmer Mist. The border was cut out of the pattern paper and then I hand-stitched round the edges.

To make the blooms I used the pattern paper (you can see it under the close-up photo).  I cut a lot of those and water-distressed them. I added some ink and they were ready to use them for my page.

My second layout is rather simple. I cut the branch from the pattern paper and I inked it.

It was great to see the ink-resist paper in the kit and to work with it. I used Distress Ink to color it.

My 3rd page with the Main kit. I used once again Distress Ink for the ink-resist paper but this time in pink.

I hand made the flowers using Tim Holtz flower die and an ordinary flower punch.

After cutting the banner with a pair of scallop scissors I decided to give the edges a pink tint. I used Copic Marker to be sure I color exactly the part I want. When I was ready with the coloring of the scalloped edges I used an embossing pen to give each of the flags some dimension.

My last layout with the kit...I made the scallop shape of this page.  

The bird was cut out from the pattern paper and I used Glimmer Mist and ink to achieve this color. The lace ribbon was colored with pink ink.

The centres of these beautiful white blooms were originally white but I wanted to match them with the colors of my layout and I colored them with a Copic marker.

I also made two cards from the Main kit......

To make this card I used the covers of the notebook journal from the Main kit . I used Gesso for the edges and I used my last hand-made flower ;-)
